Mediation Training Officer
Functions relevant to the Job
- Accomplishing of five day training program including mediation proficiencies and skills strategies, prior to selection of new members for 13 mediation boards in the district in every three year period. Get the provisions allocated from the Mediation Board Commission in this event.
- Taking action to reserve the main conference hall and dates prescribed by liaison with relevant divisional secretariats in the process of organizing the training sessions and to receive the contribution of resource personnel in these training programs.
- Assessment of trainers, preparation of question papers and evaluation schemes in the process of appointing of mediators.
- Supervision of mediation boards established within the district of Colombo in the week-ends.
- Preparation of monthly district report, having obtained accurate data on disputes from chairmen in 13 mediation boards.
- Participating as a member in the interview board held to direct participants for the training aiming at selection of mediators.
- Further one day awareness for mediators.
- Extending knowledge on special mediation fields
- Entering of data on disputes for the use of chairmen and conducting of workshops regarding problems encountered in this process.
- Making available of reports on petitions forwarded by the Mediation Commission regarding mediators.
- Progress review in district level with the participation of mediation program officers and Development Officer (Mediation) and submitting of details on the progress of Colombo district, participating in monthly progress review meetings conducted by the Mediation Board Commission.
- Timely co-ordination with Police Stations, Courts, divisional secretariats, other government and non governmental institutions regarding mediation officers.
- Introducing” mediation concept’ for schools in Colombo.
- Conducting of awareness programs on mediation for final year students in the law college.
